There is a huge scam going viral on facebook, the scam\u00a0 is related to iPhones. Facebook has been growing tremendously since the past few years and a lot of people, old or young are using it extensively on daily basis. The problem arises when you know very little about scammer’s tactics to lure users into their trap. Once the user gets lured into their traps, the scammers\/hackers have full control over the user.<\/p>\n

Let us begin analysing the “Free iphone scam”<\/h1>\n

It all starts with a simple picture of iPhones, in black colour and white colour. The app that uses that picture, automatically tags certain people. This is how it works.<\/p>\n

1. Person A uses the “free Iphone” app. The facebook app will automatically tag person A’s friends onto the iphone picture. The tagging part is very important because of that, the free iphone scam is going viral on the internet.<\/p>\n

2. The app is made in such a way that it forces you to give it permissions to access your personal information without which you cannot proceed! Now, this is the part where scammers obtain your personal information. They can sell your personal information or even create fake accounts in your name. That can become out of control and can literally ruin your life.<\/p>\n

3. The “free iPhone” app uses instagram! Since, instagram app on facebook is quite popular and has a good deal of authority, the iphone photograph in which you are tagged can appear on almost all of your facebook friend’s page. On average, your stories appear only to 10% of your friends or sometimes more depending on their activity! Considering the fact that, it will appear on everyone’s facebook page, more people are caught into the trap.<\/p>\n

4. Since you are tagged on the image, your friend’s would definitely want to try it out, thus spreading this scam to even more!<\/p>\n

5. As of recent update from the scammers, the main page of their website is changed and now shows a survey.<\/p>\n

The survey is a tool that is used by the bad people to earn money! When you complete a survey, those bad people get 2$ for it. Now take into consideration the real scenario, where this app has gone viral, literally millions of people have been reached out by this scam, the amount of money earned so far by the scammers is HUGE! The surveys are a powerful tool to earn money and the scammers use it in a bad way. They are probably making about anywhere from $300 to $500 a day! As long as this app is online, they will continue to earn more money.<\/p>\n
